Annual 8-day Silent Retreat

Tomorrow I begin my annual 8-day silent retreat.  Please keep me in your prayers and you will be in mine.
Every day we wake up empty and frightened
Don't go to the study and pull out a book,
Take down a musical instrument instead
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are a hundred ways
To kneel and kiss the ground.
Jalaluddin Rumi
I will be kissing the ground at the feet of Christ and before his face.

Christ's peace be with you all.

Nathan,

Any insight on why you are quoting the 13th century Muslim founder of the Mawlawī Sufi order, prior to going on an 8-day Ignatian retreat?

What "insight" is required? He seems to have used the passage to illustrate his preparation before retreat. Is that difficult to grasp?
